2023 Corn after Corn Test Plot for Yield and Foliar Disease Tolerance

We started planting a corn after corn test plot on our farm west of Twelve Mile in 2022. This plot is planted with 108 to 116 day corn hybrids with our high yield management program with a 250 bushel yield goal. The 2022 plot winner was Dekalb 63-57 VT2P at 245 bushels/acre. The plot is not sprayed with fungicide to give an accurate assessment of foliar disease tolerance.

Tar Spot infections were first documented on august 21st, and we started to see hybrids die off by september 5th from tar spot infections. The below image was shot September 19th. All 23 hybrids in this plot have tar spot.
